Privacy Policy

Ictale (“the app”, “we”) is a tool for tracking epileptic seizures in dogs and cats, intended for pet owners and their vet. This policy explains what data we process, why, and what your rights are.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Perle Valès, publisher of Ictale. For any question, you can write to us at contact@ictale.com.
2. Data we process
- Account (optional): your email address, to create an account and enable sharing the records with your vet.
- Pet tracking data: information about your pet, seizures (duration, type, symptoms, context), treatments, exams and notes that you enter.
- Media: photos and videos you add (seizure videos, exam reports, pet photo).
- Minimal technical data: information needed for the proper operation and security of the service.
By default, your data is stored locally on your phone. It is only sent to our servers if you create an account to use vet sharing.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the tracking service (performance of the service you request).
- Enabling sharing of the records with the vet of your choice (your consent, via a sharing code that you generate).
- Managing your Ictale Premium subscription (performance of the contract).
4. Recipients and processors
We never sell your data and never use it for advertising. Your data may be processed by:
- The vet you choose, when you give them a sharing code.
- Supabase (database hosting and authentication), when you create an account.
- RevenueCat and Apple / Google, for the technical management of subscriptions and payments.
- Google Firebase (Analytics), to measure app usage anonymously (see below).
Usage statistics
To understand how the app is used and improve it, we measure anonymous usage statistics via Google Firebase Analytics (for example the number of seizures logged or reports generated). These measurements contain no health data and no information that identifies you, and are never used for advertising. This data may be processed by Google, including outside the European Union, with appropriate safeguards.
You can turn this off at any time in the app: Profile → Account & cloud → Usage statistics.
5. Data retention
Your data is kept for as long as you use the app. You can erase everything at any time from the app (Profile → “Reset all data”) or ask us to delete your account and the associated data.
6. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port and object to the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@ictale.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data. Access to synced data is restricted to your account and to the vets you authorise.
8. Children
Ictale is intended for adult pet owners and is not aimed at minors.
9. Changes
This policy may be updated. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
Ictale is a tracking tool and does not replace veterinary advice. In an emergency, contact your vet.
